France, Battle of Wagram,
The battle took place in the vicinity of Vienna on 5/6th July 1809 where Napoleon had managed to amass a massive army of some 165,000 troops against the Austrian army of Archduke Charles. This was the largest european battle up to this time with some 300,000 combatants and approximately 72,000 casualties.
The battle was one of the most important military engagements of the Napoleonic Wars and ended in a decisive victory for Emperor Napoleon I's French and Allied army against the Austrian army. The Battle virtually spelled the destruction of the Fifth Coalition, the Austrian and British-led alliance against France, although such were the French losses combined with those of a few weeks earlier that Napoleon could not underestimate the destructive effect on his own army.
