George Canning, Unveiling of Statue in New Palace Yard
The statue produced by Sir Richard Westmacott was originally unveiled I New Palace Yard in 1832 prior to Parliament Square being designed. It was subsequently moved to it's current site in 1949. The bust was based on a portrait by Sir Francis Chantry who was not at all impressed that the commission was given to Westmacott.
These passes were given to benefactors who subscribed to the erection of the statue.
