Entente Cordiale
A British parliamentary delegation, consisting of abut 100 MPs and Lords went to Paris to attend a dinner at the Hotel Continental on 29th November given by M. Lanessan, the editor of the anglophile newspaper “Le Siecle”. Each of the parliamentarians was presented by the Editor with “a handsome commemorative plaquette or rectangular medal in silver by M. Rene Gregoire, representing France and England embracing at the altar of peace and bearing the date of the visit and the name of the recipient” (The Times, 30th November 1903).
