Brady,Hamy and Mann were Dublin silversmith's and so this would have been a business speculation on their part. One that might very nearly have gone spectacularly wrong.
Queen Caroline had only died on 7th August and so it was generally expected that the trip would be cancelled. George arrived at Howth on the 11th.
