Pidgeon, a greenhouse in a garden, rev. god of gardens decked with flowers by Flora and offered fruits by Pomona, with inscription around, Presented to Mr. Daniel Judd Jany. 7th. 1817, 68 mm, (DW. 155/422), contained in original red leather case. Slight surface rubbing, otherwise good extremely fine. £Sold
Daniel Judd, gardener to Mr.Charles Campbell of Edmonton was awarded this prize for his paper on the cultivation of asparagus along with other items.
The Horticultural Society of London was founded in 1804 and became the Royal Horticultural Society in 1861.
