Shakespeare Related,Walnut Chalice, Made from Wood from Billesley Churchyard,

There is a legend that Shakespeare married Anne Hathaway at Billesley Church a few miles from Stratford on Avon and also that his grand-daughter Elizabeth married Sir John Barnard there in 1649.
John Marshall had a shop at 21 Chapel Street between the 1850s and late 1880s and was variously described in local trade directories as "a carver, upholsterer and house decorator (1854); a curiosity dealer (1874) and a dealer in antique furniture and curios (1884). In order to broaden the scope of his productions, he acquired wood from other sites that had a strong Shakespeare connection. The shop was next to Nash's House, which had been owned by Shakespeare's granddaughter's husband, Thomas Nash. Next door to this building is the site of Shakespeare's house, New Place, which he bought for his family in 1597.
