Duke of Wellington Appointed Governor of Plymouth, bronze gilt medal, 1819, by T. Webb after P. Rouw, bare head bust of Wellington profile left, ARTHUR DUKE OF WELLINGTON, rev. legend in thirty five lines, 55 mm. BHM. 986). Slight rubbing to the gilding and a small edge knock on the obverse, otherwise extremely fine, rare in this metal. £Sold
The Duke held the position of Governor of Plymouth from 1819 to 1826.
