Charles James Fox, Wedgwood Portrait Plaque, jasperware, circa 1790, bare head bust of Charles James Fox three quarters facing, rev. two firing holes, WEDGWOOD, 180 x 154 mm, contained in later papier mache frame. A finely modelled portrait, good very fine. £Sold
Reilly and Savage state that this is attributed to John Flaxman circa 1790 and probably modelled from the portrait by Sir Joshua Reynolds. Tassie produced a similar unsigned example in glass-paste "Modelled by Whitley."
