World War 1 Patriotic Silk Handkerchief, , circa 1914, Silk handkerchief divided into quarters. Each quarter has the first verse, with sheet music, of the national anthems of Great Britain, France, the late Russian Empire and Belgium. There is a portrait above each piece of sheet music, representing George V of Great Britain, Raymond Poincare (president of France), Tsar Nicholas II of Russia and Albert I of Belgium respectively. Either side of each portrait are figures representing the armed forces of each country. Either side of each music sheet are the country's flags and below an emblem of the country. 580 x 580 mm, contained in period frame. Good very fine, with strong original colour. £425.00
