Minor surface marks, otherwise extremely fine and rare, especially in this condition. £Sold
The line roughly followed the route of the Forth and Clyde and Union canals. The most significant of the engineering achievements needed for the project was the thirty-six arch viaduct over the Almond valley.
The total cost of construction of the forty-six-mile track was £1,200,000.
The initial service comprised four trains daily traveling in both directions, taking 21/2 hours each way.First-class, traveling in some comfort cost 8/- single. Third class was 4/-. These passengers stood throughout the journey in trucks and there was no roof.
