Charles 11, British Colonisation
Beautifully executed by John Roettier, the medal may allude to the dowry of Queen Catherine, which laid the foundation of the British Empire in India; The reverse of the medal is thought to show one of the first representations of Western Australia with the legend alluding to the spread of the name of Briton throughout the world, with colonies on the continent and the islands of America, warfare against the state of Barbary in Africa, and acquisition of territory in Asia.
